Our preparations continue for our Saturday departure to Guatemala. Nearing the gulf and making a track for Guatemala is Hurricane Ernesto. There is a CALMS team from Omaha Nebraska right now in La Avanzada Guatemala. That gives me some concern because in 2008, as we prepared to travel to Guatemala, a tropical storm struck La Avenzada and caused massive mud slides that caused great devastation and loss of life. I am praying for the team that is there, for the people who live there and for the entire country of Guatemala. When we got to Guatemala in 2008 our plans were altered due to the devastation. A number of our team members made a perilous trip up a washed out road to deliver desperately needed food to the people of La Avanzada. I will continue to raise these poor people in prayer so such a trip
this time will not be required again. Please join me in this prayer. Regardless of how our mission may change we will adapt and serve as the hands of God.
