Attached you'll see pictures of our entire group in the courtyard of our hotel last night right after our amazing dinner. Then there is a picture of Pastor Luis preaching and finally a picture of one of the homes that we will be completing. This one is located up a steep rock and dirt path and still has quite a bit of work to do before we can begin to bring in more supplies. It sits completely in the sun, so not only will getting supplies be a challenge but the work will be tough. But we're ready for all the challenges that lie ahead. The families are both living in very poor conditions and are so excited to see us come tomorrow to build them their new homes.
There was an opportunity today to play ball in the street today with some of the children from those families. Even Jeff B & Bruce C. were out in the street kicking around the ball. The 7 year old boy just loved to kick the ball and watch us all run to get the ball back in play! He never tired, even with the blazing sun beating down on us all.
We just had a nice rain storm so hopefully it won't effect our work tomorrow. We are all trying to conserve our energy after driving around visiting sites today and even seeing past homes built through Gloria Dei and CALMS. Prayers for safety and health as we begin a very amazing week filled with hard work but expanding some new relationships in faith.

ReplyDeleteIt's so good to see the pictures and read the stories. Thanks for blogging, Cindy! I am praying for your protection and health. Be sure to stay hydrated when in the heat, wouldn't want any of you to get sick! May God give you many opportunities to share the love of Jesus! How's the pool at the hotel?
ReplyDeleteThinking of you and praying for you, that God will bless you more than you could ask or imagine. He is able to accomplish what concerns you today. Cast your burdens on Him for He cares for you.
